3.0 Updates

3.2 Revenues

3.21 Revenue updates refer to information released by a company regarding quarterly and annual revenues. When writing revenue updates, link the source to the verb.

3.22 These updates are “just the numbers and growth rates” with no additional commentary or market insights into “why” the numbers/growth are what they are.

3.23 When referencing an increase or decrease in percentages use a + or - sign in front of the percentage.

3.24 Formatting of revenue updates is as follows:

“For (reporting period) (Company Name) (link to report w/ verb such as “reported”) (revenues, revenue increases, total revenues, growth or other appropriate terms) (pertinent info including amount of revenue, % of increase/decrease over the appropriate reporting period,) (other information of value to our customers such as cause of increase/decrease, what drove {product/product line} the change, actions taken by the company, etc).”

3.25 For companies reporting revenues in foreign currencies such as Euros, SEK, etc., convert foreign currency into US dollars and use a tilda "~" in front of the US dollar amount and follow with the foreign currency in parentheses. When converting from Australian dollars, use AUD without the "$" sign as follows: ~$5.22MM (AUD 7.71MM).
