Patents should be written in the following format:
[Company Name]'s US Patent was issued/granted relating to [add description]. [Patent Number]
Note:
-
- The Patent Number is written in italics. Either verb (issued or granted) may be used.
- Do not use the # sign.
- The Patent Number has NO commas as noted in the example below. (changed as of Jan 2023)
3.62 Patent Applications
Patent Applications should be written in the following format:
[Company Name]'s US Patent Application was published relating to [add description]. [Patent Application Number]
Notes:
-
- The Patent Application number is written in italics. The verb used for patent applications is "published."
- Do not use the # sign.
- The Patent Application number should have no commas.
The snippet should look like the example below. If there are more than 10 patents or applications they can be broken into separate snippets ex YYYY Patents & YYYY Patent Applications.
